During the auditions, all the interested participants had to carry a valid nationality and age proof certificate as well as two passport sized photographs. Geeta Kapur is a very famous Indian personality who has been a choreographer in Indian Bollywood Cinema for many years. Who is Terence Lewis?
Terence Lewis is an Indian choreographer and also directed many different events. This Lux Dance India Dance season 1 show had twelve contestants who were Rakhee Sharma, Bhavana Purohit, Mangesh Mondal, Vrushali Chavan, Mayuresh Wadkar, Khushboo Purohit, Sunita Gogoi, Prince R. Gupta, Jai Kumar, Siddesh Pai, Alisha Singh and Mohammad Y.K Ghouse a.k.a Salman Khan. The ultimate winner of this reality television show was Salman Khan who currently resides in Bangalore. This 23 year old youth, who had enthralled audiences with his captivating dance steps, was finally declared the winner at the eagerly awaited grand finale. So how did Salman’s life change after this episode? Well, simply with over 5 million rupees. Not only did Salman manage to get 5 million rupees richer, but at the same time he also beat two other contestants viz. Siddesh Pai and Alisha Singh.
So what was the reaction of this new dance king of Indian cinema? “I thank god, my mother and the audience for giving me so much love,” said Khan after winning the show. The final event that was held in Mumbai at the Andheri Sports Complex had some spectacular performances and even the TV actor Jay Bhanushali took part in one of the performances. With an audience capacity of over 10,000 people, the finalists performed with their mentors viz Remo D’ Souza, Terence Lewis and Geeta Kapoor. In fact the entire crowd was awestruck with the wonderful performances that were showcased.
Salman Khan has now already begun on his way to being one of the most famous reality television winners in recent history. Not only did he manage to get the coveted Golden hat that he was promised the ‘Sunheri Taqdeer Ki topi,’ but he was also awarded a 50 lakh contract with Zee TV along with the chance of starring in his own movie in Bollywood.
Dance India Dance has truly gone on to be one of the most eagerly watched shows in television history. It is no wonder then that many youngsters all over India have now given serious thought to turning professional dancers.
